Business Development Manager

ATG is a global sourcing specialist that partners and works with manufacturers of commodities in China, India and Southeast Asia. We supply parts and components to OEMs direct from our overseas factories to our customers wherever they are in the world.

We are looking to recruit an experienced Business Development Manager to join our successful team. You will be the front of the company and will have the dedication to create and apply an effective sales strategy. The goal is to drive sustainable financial growth through boosting sales and forging strong relationships with clients.

The role will require domestic and international travel to meet with prospects, visit customers and attend industry expos. In addition to the basic salary commission will be earned on earned on all sales.

  • Search for new customers who will benefit from ATG’s products and services to maximise client potential
  • Develop long-term relationships with customers, through managing and interpreting their requirements
  • Persuade customers that a product or service best satisfies their needs in terms of quality, price and delivery
  • Negotiate tender and contract terms and conditions to meet both customer and company needs
  • Calculate customer quotations and administer their accounts
  • Perform to a set of sales KPIs to feed into Sales Director’s performance and forecast data
  • In conjunction with our technical department provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education
  • Analyse costs and sales
  • Prepare reports for head office and keep customer records
  • Use CRM to log leads and customers
  • Meet regular sales targets and coordinate sales projects
  • Support marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events
  • Make sales presentations and demonstrate how a product meets client needs
  • Liaise with other members of the sales team and other technical experts
  • Provide training and produce support material for other members of the sales team
    Qualifications and Skills
  • Proven working experience as a business development manager or a relevant role
  • Bring market opportunity to ATG that has been gathered in previous relevant roles
  • Proven sales track record
  • Proven account management experience
  • Exemplary customer service manner and experience
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office and CRM software
  • Market knowledge
  • Communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to build rapport with customers and colleagues
  • Time management and planning skills
  • BSc/BA/BEng in business administration, engineering, sales or relevant field although candidates with vocational / practical experience will also be considered
