Global Quality & Technical Engineer - Northern Ireland

Overview:We are looking to recruit an experienced Quality and Technical Engineer to support and implement business driven quality initiatives by identifying and driving continuous improvements in manufacturing process capability, capacity, and product quality. This role requires some overseas travel to implement and reinforce the identified processes at the manufacturing location. You will help manage customer quality assurance issues and provide solutions in line with customer expectations and the Quality Department’s KPIs.
ATG is a global sourcing specialist that partners and works with manufacturers of commodities in China, India, and Southeast Asia. We supply parts and components to Original Equipment Manufacturers direct from our overseas factories to facilities across the globe!
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring all inspection reports and relevant tests have been conducted and recorded before components and assemblies are dispatched from suppliers.
- Collaborating with the customer to ensure any issues are dealt with swiftly & efficiently.
- Development of all the factories social & wellbeing responsibility “CSR.”
- The support and development of the Manufacturing Team based in China.
- Working with the UK Quality Team to develop processes to better meet the needs of our customers and the internal processes.
- Co-ordinating product risk and FMEAs.
- Evaluating and improving manufacturing processes by; applying knowledge of product design, casting, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors.
- Preparing inspection/quality reports for both customers and supplying factories.
- Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Assisting the factory to develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.
- Development and adoption of the ATG ISO 9001 processes into the China based operation with the goal of achieving certification. .
Competencies & Requirements:
- Background in Engineering and product development/manufacture or a technical discipline. For example, service technician.
- Experience of working with castings (preferred but not essential).
- Experience of quality testing procedures and inspection standards.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Professional and proactive work ethic.
- Highly organised and a great partner to the business.
- Enthusiastic and good with people.
- Ready to learn new skills and push for improvement in all areas.
