Warehouse Operative & Fitter
Location: Ballyclare, Northern Ireland
Position: Permanent, Full Time
Department: Operations
Reporting to: General Manager, Northern Ireland
Full Time: 40 hours a week (hours as per contract)
Overview:ATG is a global sourcing specialist that partners and works with manufacturers of commodities in China, India and South East Asia. We supply parts and components to Original Equipment Manufactures direct from our overseas factories to our customers wherever they are in the world. We also manufacture crawler track systems for a variety of vehicles for the construction, material processing, agriculture and waste recycling industries.
As Warehouse Operative & Fitter, you will ensure the safe and efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of warehouse materials, goods and products to feed business operations and customer demand. You will also manage the day-to-day assembly of components on the factory floor being mainly involved with various fitting and assembly type tasks.
Responsibilities:Warehouse Operative
- Load and unload vehicles using manual handling techniques.
- Receive goods as required and store received goods in the appropriate locations within the warehouse.
- Ensure loads are complete and free from damage upon receipt.
- Move and rearrange stock, either by hand or with heavy lifting equipment.
- Maintain up to date records of all goods that enter and leave the warehouse.
- Label, pack and wrap goods as appropriate.
Fitter
- Assemble components as required, on time and to the right quality and specification..
- Assemble and test finished assemblies/sub-assemblies given the relevant specifications and Bill of Materials.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of assembly tools and equipment to minimise damage through assembly process.
- Ensure traceability of equipment through the assembly process.
- Assist in solutions to overcome problems found on assemblies.
General
- Assist in training of new colleagues.
- Keep all workspaces clean and tidy through good housekeeping.
- Carry out stock counts as and when required.
- Ensure that Health and Safety is maintained.
- Any other duties deemed appropriate by your line manager.
Requirements:
- Full and current Counterbalance Forklift Truck license.
- Mechanical background or experience of fitting motors, gearboxes and assembling components.
- Paint spraying experience.
- Experience of using a Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system.
- Experience of working within a warehouse setting.
- Understanding of engineering drawings.
- Experience and ability to work to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Understanding of working with health, safety environment and quality.
- The ability to use a PC.
- A full clean driving license.
