Team ATG looks back on the week spent at bauma Munich, our industry’s leading expo |
What a week we had at bauma 2022 in Munich! Global sourcing specialists, ATG, had a stand as part of the UK Pavilion in Hall B5 where we played host to many visitors. Some were existing customers, some were new and some were friends who we hadn’t seen in some time. We also had a lot of interest from potential suppliers from around the world keen to join the hundreds of factories who ATG currently work with.
![]() The ATG bauma 2022 contingent consisted of teams from global business development, international purchasing, marketing and commercial overseen by our MD, Shaun Edwards. For those who haven’t been to bauma, the first thing that strikes you is the sheer size of the event. Even before you get to the Messe Muenchen showground, cranes and other access equipment can be seen reaching to the sky for miles around. Spread across 18 huge halls and a vast outside area, bauma 2022 welcomed 3200 exhibitors from over 60 countries. And with almost half a million visitors the event more than lived up to expectations for footfall and interest. ![]() There were many of the construction industry’s biggest brands there including CAT, Wacker Neuson, Liebherr, Bauer, Ammann and Komatsu in exhibition spaces that in some cases took 6 months to build. However, what makes bauma Munich most special are the thousands of smaller exhibitors showcasing their innovative products and services. The breadth and scope of the products and services on offer are testament to the innovation of the sectors that they serve. From day 1, it was obvious that ATG’s global sourcing business model was of genuine commercial interest to companies of all sizes that were looking for a strategic partner to help meet their procurement needs. Those looking for a reliable supplier of castings, fabrications or precision machined components quickly understood that our innovative sourcing solution would more than meet their requirements. ![]() ATG Conveyor Components generated a lot of interest from bauma Munich visitors looking for a variety of products including trough rollers, field conveyors, disc return rollers, conveyor drums, impact rollers, power transmission and transoms. ![]() We also found there was a huge amount of interest for our crawler undercarriages from A-Trax that are ideal for multiple applications. Not only do we supply a wide range of standard tracks, but our technical team can design bespoke solutions for making different types of machines mobile. ![]() Across our main business and its subsidiaries, these initial face to face meetings at the show are already turning into live quotes that will ultimately become projects guaranteeing future business for many years to come. ![]() All in all, bauma 2022 was a resounding success on all fronts for ATG. For the more seasoned members of our team, it was great to get back to a live event that created a raft of opportunities for the future. For the more junior members, it showcased the health and strength of an industry in which they’ve chosen to make a career. Managing Director, Shaun Edwards, said, “it was excellent having our various teams at Messe Muenchen this year. Not only were we able to showcase our products and services to visitors on our stand, we were also able to get out and about meeting current customers, making new contacts and engaging with potential suppliers. The level of opportunity that bauma Munich creates makes it one of the go-to events on the global expo calendar. We'll definitely be back in three years’ time for bauma 2025!” If you’d like to know more about what ATG can do for you and your business, please get in touch by filling out our Contact Form.
